Privacy policy
Bandwagon is run by [LEGAL NAME] ("we"). This policy explains what we collect when you use the Bandwagon app and this website, who can see it, and how to delete it. The short version: we collect what the app needs to work, your challenges are private to the people in them, and we don't sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps and sites.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, which we use only to send you sign-in codes. Your display name and the colour you pick.
- What you add to challenges: challenges you start (name, end date, unit), updates you post (text, numbers, the day they happened, and photos), cheers and reactions, your bingo board, and which challenges you're in and whether you're taking part or cheering.
- Your private goal: the goal you set for yourself in a challenge. Only you can see it.
- Notifications: if you allow them, a push token for your device, so we can tell you when someone posts or cheers you, and whether you've muted a challenge.
- Crash reports: when the app crashes or hits an error, a report with the error, your device model, operating system and app version. Reports don't include your name, email, what you've posted, or invite links.
We don't collect your location or contacts, and we don't use analytics or advertising tools.
Who can see it
- People in a challenge with you see your name, colour, updates, photos, cheers and bingo board in that challenge.
- Only you see your private goal and your email address.
- Anyone with a challenge's invite link can see a preview: the challenge's name and dates, the name of the person who started it, how many people are taking part or cheering, and the group's total. They can't see anyone else's name, updates or photos unless they join. Whoever started a challenge can replace its link at any time.
Services we use
We use these providers to run Bandwagon. They process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase stores your account and everything in your challenges, including photos. [REGION]
- Resend sends sign-in emails.
- Expo, Apple and Google deliver push notifications.
- Sentry receives crash reports.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your data while you have an account. You can delete your account at any time in the app (tap your profile, then Delete account). This deletes your account, profile, updates, photos, cheers, private goals, bingo boards and device tokens. Challenges you started pass to the next person in them, so other people's updates aren't lost; a challenge with nobody else in it is deleted. Whoever started a challenge can also delete it, which removes everything posted in it.
Deleted data may remain in our providers' backups for up to [BACKUP RETENTION] before it is overwritten. Crash reports are kept for [CRASH REPORT RETENTION].
Your rights
You can change your name and colour, edit or delete your updates, and delete your account in the app. To ask for a copy of your data, or for anything else about your data, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to object to processing or to complain to your data protection authority.
[IF YOU SERVE THE UK/EU: We process your data to provide the service you signed up for (contract), and crash reports to keep the app working (legitimate interests).]
Children
Bandwagon isn't for children under [13, OR 16 WHERE LOCAL LAW REQUIRES].
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
